The Ultimate Grilled Cheese

The ultimate grilled cheese sandwich! No secret tip…..just cheesy ingredients! Gooey perfection topped with our Crimson Pepper Chili Jam.

Crispy crunchy on the outside. Melty on the inside.


Step 1: Building the sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Pullman loaf

  • 2 tsp kewpie mayo or Hellmann’S

  • 1 tsp honeycup mustard

  • 2 slices havarti cheese, 2 slices Gruyère cheese, & 2 slices sharp cheddar

  • 3 TBSP butter

    Assembling the sandwich

  • spread one slice of bread with mayo of your choice

  • spread the other slice bread with honeycup mustard

  • layer cheese on one bread slice

  • cover cheese with the other slice of bread

Step 2: Cooking

  • melt 3 tablespoons butter and brush the outer bread of the assembled sandwich

  • pre-heat cast iron pan on medium-low

  • place the rather thick sandwich on the pan

  • toast bread evenly until golden & crispy

  • gently flip the sandwich over and crisp the other side

  • sandwich is ready when the bread has caramelized and the cheese has melted

  • place on board, cut in half, top with Crimson Pepper Chili Jam

TIP: Low heat ensures evenly toasted bread, allowing the cheese a chance to melt

TIP: If cheese is slow to melt, cover the pan with a lid, leave the lid ajar for the steam to escape

TIP: Sandwich is ready when the cheese is oozing out of the sandwich
